This week continued a teaching series at my church, called “Know the Story. Share the Story.” It’s based on 3-4 years of my writing and thinking life about how we retell God’s Story and what we should say when we retell it. My hope is that people will better understand the pieces of God’s magical, revolutionary Story of Rescue in Jesus, so that they can share that Story with their friends or coworkers of family or neighbors.
This third of four teachings on God’s Story is on Act 3: Rescue. The good, sweet news of this Act is that God did not give up on us after our revolt against Him and His way. From the beginning God has been on mission to rescue and re-create us and our world. He accomplished that ultimate rescue through our Great High Priest Jesus, who is our final sacrifice.
