I am reading a new book called The Radical Reformission by Mark Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, and came across a wonderful quotation:
“Innovation, when not tethered to the truth of the gospel, leads to heresy.”
As we are emerging from the Modern version of Christian spirituality into the great unknown of postmodernity, it will be wise for us who identify with the emerging church conversation to consider these words. While we want to leave so much baggage behind for this journey, it is imperative we constantly check and re-check that we are moving toward one singular goal: Jesus, and a fuller, more real understanding of Him and His Way.
