As I mentioned, I’m in a week intensive church planting class and yesterday we spent the whole day in deep reflection on the definition, vision, and marks of the Church.
Our instructor, Dr. Doug Fagerstom, gave our groups 10 minutes to answer these question. Before I post some of the things we came up with I thought I would pose the questions for you all:
What is the Church? What is Her vision?
Define the Church and Her vision.
I’ll offer a thought:
the church is the continuing incarnation of Jesus Christ in the world with the Jesus-mission of reconciling everything to God (cf. Luke-Acts, Col. 1)
embodying the acts, cross, and resurrection of christ.
too cliche?
the church is the embodiment of the teachings and reality of Jesus Christ.
