I’m pleased to announce that PRAYERS FOR MY CITY: A Fixed-Hour Prayer Guide for Grand Rapids is now available to buy in printed form. Earlier this month it went on sale for NOOK and Kindle. Yesterday I approved the proof for the print version, and have a batch on the way. If you live in the Grand Rapids area, there are a few ways you can buy the book. It will be available in the next few weeks from a few local bookstores: Baker Book House will carry it; you can also initially purchase it from Schuler Book’s Espresso Book Machine. You will also be able to buy it from amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. The book retails for $12.95 and will be available from those outlets in the next few weeks.
You can also buy it directly from me for a discounted price right now. For $10 (plus sales tax for MI residents) the book will ship in a few days, which includes shipping costs.
And for those of you who are fellow Mac cultists, your turn will come soon: an iPad version is nearly finished and will be available shortly.
Next Wednesday begins the Holy Season of Lent. I think this could make a great resource for you if you participate in this historic Church practice. Not only would you be giving up something in order to understand a slice of the depths to which Christ gave up His life, you’d be taking up something—you’d be taking up the practice of praying with the Church and great privileged and responsibility of praying for your city. Perhaps it doing so this Lent season will have as transforming of an effect on you as it did me when I discovered this ancient practice 7 years ago (see the above video for my story).

I'll take a copy!
