For those who know me well or have been around this blog block now and again, for years I have thought about how we share the gospel and what it means to tell and retell and tell again God’s magic, revolutionary Story of Rescue. That was part of the main focus of my first book, the (un)offensive gospel of Jesus. In it I set out to sketch a fresh portrait of good Jesus and His hopeful Story of Rescue, which I’ve just finished revising and polishing.

A few months ago some friends suggested I take the chapters from this book that correspond to that Story—creation, rebellion, rescue, re-creation—and create a separate guide. They thought it would be nice to have a handbook of sorts to help people understand that Story so they know how to tell that Story. So I did. I’m calling it God’s Story of Rescue: A Guide for Sharing the Gospel, a short ebook that takes four chapters and the appendix from the (un)offensive gospel of Jesus.

I’m pleased to offer that short guide today for NOOK and Kindle, and at only $2.99.

This book isn’t another gospel sharing method or a step-by-step guide to sharing the gospel, though the Appendix at the end can help you know what to say when you’re called to say it. Instead, this book is about knowing and understanding the Story we are called to share. Before we can tell the gospel Story we need to know the Story. That’s what this guide does. It helps you better understand each of the four acts of God’s Story so you can share that magical, revolutionary gospel with your friends and neighbors and family.

I hope this ebook prepares you and helps you to actively, deliberately, carefully tell and retell and tell again that old, old Story of Jesus and His love.

PS—If you’re interested in learning more about this ebook, tomorrow I’m posting the 1800 word preface I wrote to introduce the book. It explains more of my passion for understanding and telling God’s Story of Rescue, and my passion for equipping and encouraging Christians to know that Story so they can share that Story.
