God of all goodness, your Holy Scriptures say that a nation’s leaders have been chosen and placed in their positions by you, the maker of nations. I thank you for the leaders of my city and pray for them and their leadership: Give them an awareness of their responsibility to you as much as us; empower them with the kind of wisdom that can only come from you; and provoke them to seek first the Kingdom of Heaven in all manner of conduct and decision-making in order to restore my city to the way you intended cities to flourish; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
