Father, God of all mercies, your Holy Scriptures tell us that pure and faultless religion you accept is to look after the orphans and widows in their distress: I boldly pray that your face would shine brightly this morning upon all those in my city who suffer as orphans and widows; I pray that the Church in my city would unite in relieving their distress; and I pray that I would enter into and care for their suffering; through the might and power of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
