Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, the Holy Scriptures tell us when you looked across your own city of Jerusalem you wept, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. I pray that you would give me the same eyes, affections, and response as you: May I notice the suffering and injustice that surrounds me in my city; may I mourn the families and individuals affected by that injustice; and may I lay down my life for my city as an agent of reconciliation; through you, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior I pray. Amen.
